Jeremy Freeland

Managing Director

Managing Director
Jeremy's connection with Collars began in 1998 when he took over the helm following the retirement Richard Scaldwell.

Having achieved a Diploma at Southampton in marine management, he gained experience at marine production yards on the Thames, as well as 5 years spent working at IPC Magazines in London on Yachting Monthly Magazine.

With well-established contacts in the marine industry he has developed Collars products to appeal to a wide audience, both trade and retail, making Collars the number one choice when it comes to spars or oars. Having successfully launched the 16 page Collar brochure in 2000, Jeremy was responsible for all the jezMarketing and PR of the company as a whole, including Boatshows and promotion.

Having sailed extensively all his life, the love of boats set in at an early age. Today he is a keen owner of an International Dragon moored in the West Country, and successfully campaigns her at Falmouth Week every year.

In June of 2002, Jeremy purchased Collars from Bossoms Boatyard as a going concern and formed Freeland Yacht Spars Limited. With this renewed focus, he was able to bring the Collars brand into the 21st Century. 'A commitment to Quality' became his vision - and the Collars brand remains the World's best...
