'Blazing Star'

After the best part of 18 months in the making, the complete rig for the 60' John Alden yawl 'Blazing Star' was finished and shipped to Gweek Quay in Cornwall to be united with the beautifully restored yacht.

Chief Ivanhoe

This Classic 1920 John G. Alden yawl is currently mid way through an extensive restoration and refit at Gweek Quay Boatyard in Cornwall. Chief Ivanhoe, built in America and launched in 1930, she is one of 7 similar sister ships and in her youth notched up a prestigious and well documented racing history.

Lutine of Helford receives new spars.

Merrymaid Spars shipped to SYS

After just over 1000 man hours, 300 cubic feet of Columbian Pine, 60kg of resorcinol adhesive, and 26 liters of varnish, Merrymaid replacement spars were completed and transported by Portacraft to Southampton Yacht Services.

Replacement Topmast for Mariquita

Mariquita, the last known extant boat of the 19 Metre class, has just had a new topmast supplied by Collars, who made her full set of spars when she was restored between 1991 and 2004 by Fairlie Restorations.
