Merrymaid Spars – back on board.
For the last couple of months the 100’ Camper and Nicholson Cutter ‘Merrymaid’ has been berthed at Southampton Yacht Services and has undergone some modification work following her 20,000 mile cruise of South America.

Little Brig Sailing Trust
An interesting project that has just left the Collar workshops are the complete set of spars for the Sail Training vessel Caroline Allen.
6 Meter Silene III
The completed spar set for the classic 6Meter Silene III have just left the Collar Workshops destined for Helsinki, Finland.
Harry Spencer MBE 1925 – 2009
It is with great sadness that one of the Isle of Wight’s best loved character and founder of Spencer Rigging and Spencer Thetis Wharf Ltd, passed away peacefully on 21st May 2009.
Kismet
Leaving the collar workshops is the complete set of spars for the classic 1898 fully restored fife kismet. Having received the order for the spars back in January 2008, the project has been moving along quietly in the background, to tie in with her restoration.

Busy start to the season
With the start of the sailing season just round the corner, the team at Collars are all working flat out to keep up with the high demand mainly brought on by an unprecedented amount of sizable private commissions.
Ierne picks up Restoration of the Year award
Collars are delighted to announce that the Classic Boat Restoration Award for 2008 has gone to the Fife 8-Metre Ierne.
Collars back at the London Boat Show
Supporting Classic Boat Magazine Collars will once again be back at the London International Boat Show in Excel running from 9th to 18th January 2009.
12 Meter mast back for repair.
Collars have been commissioned to undertake the refurbishment of the mast and boom from a classic German 12meter that is in the early stages of a complete restoration here in the UK.
Spars for Classic Fife 'Kismet' underway
Originally launched in 1898 the classic 50’ Fife Kismet has spent her last 50 or years lying in an Essex mud birth untouched.
Fife Regatta gets off to a flying start.
The 3rd Fife regatta of the modern era got underway on Sat 21st, in the Firth of Clyde with a 20 strong fleet of spectacular traditional wooden sailing yachts, average age 90yrs all built a mile from the start line by Ayrshire's most famous boat builder William Fife.

A New Flagpole for Powderham Castle
Collars was recently asked to manufacture and install a replacement flagpole for the main turret of Powderham Castle, near Exeter.

Cedar Columns for New School
Collars is proud to have provided 31 Western Red Cedar columns for Holy Trinity C.E. Primary School, which will become the largest primary school in Dorset on completion this september.
