A busy start to the year….
07-02-2010 22:17:53
I used to mock the saying ‘hit the ground running’, but it is the only way to describe what it’s been like since returning from Christmas. With some very tight deadlines we have delivered on time with satisfied customers. Among some of the projects that have left our workshops in January include 9 solid maple [...]
Burr….. It’s cold
07-01-2010 19:22:43
We’ve had cold starts in the past – but on Thursday morning the temperature dropped to minus 17 degrees. At least inside the workshops it was only minus 8 degrees. The heaters went on – and just when we managed to get the temperature up to nearly 10 degrees, Capricorn timber turned up with a [...]

Following our 10 day shutdown over Christmas we all back, rested and ready to get stuck into the backlog of work already booking in. 29-10-2009 21:11:34

08-10-2009 21:41:51
The final day’s racing was graced by light airs and warm sunshine resulting in the start of all classes being delayed by over an hour until the breeze started to develop. After a poor position at the start aboard Cometa, the decision was made to break South of the pack of yachts on the long [...]

Another flag pole installation.
22-09-2009 12:39:48
With more and more customers this year than ever before requiring flag poles, today another has been installed in the private residence of a house Worcestershire. This particular flag pole had an oil finish applied, allowing the natural grain of the Oregon pine to be clearly seen and looked perfect against the 2-1/2 yard St [...]
Sun shines on Southampton Boat Show
17-09-2009 14:17:42
With a dry spell and warm airs the mood at the Southampton Boat Show is certainly more optimistic than this time last year. With a general feeling that the last 12 months were not as band as first predicted, a measure as to doing well is to survive. With a good selection of our spars [...]

05-09-2009 21:43:06
Working on Merrymaid spars again: Having received back the spars for the 100′ Gaff Cutter a week or two ago – finally today we have started repairing the damage and sorting out the modifications. With the 66′ long by 16″ diameter boom in the middle of the workshop the chaps are pleased to finally be [...]
