A New Flagpole for Powderham Castle
Published: Thursday, 20th December 2007
Collars was recently asked to manufacture and install a replacement flagpole for the main turret of Powderham Castle, near Exeter.
The original Victorian flagpole had been damaged, but we were able to
manufacture a replica in two parts. It was constructed in Douglas Fir
and coated with marine-grade white gloss. Jeremy Freeland and Luke
Howard installed the mast with the aid of a crane and winches on the
19th December, and by the end of the day, the family flag of Lord Devon
was flying again from the ramparts!
