Designed by Roger Dongray and launched by Cornish Crabbers in the early 1990s, the Crabber 17 is a compact gaff-rigged dayboat with the look and feel of a traditional working boat. At just over 17 feet long, she is light enough to tow behind a family car yet offers a generous cockpit, reassuring stability, and classic character under sail. Her shallow draft and centreplate make her equally at home exploring creeks, estuaries, or open coastal waters, and her popularity has ensured she remains in production today.
Collars have been supplying the traditional wooden spars for the Crabber 17 (rebranded Shrimper 17) since its introduction. Our spars are priced constructed, shaped, sanded fine and sealed with a wash coat of Sikkens. We can supply fully finished spars—full Sikkens system and dressed with the fittings from your existing spars. Normally these are sent to us at time of order; we clean them up and re-fit them to the new spars after all the coatings have been applied. Please add this option to the basket if required.
