The Drascombe Longboat was developed as a larger sister to the Lugger, offering more space and carrying power while retaining the same easy handling and traditional yawl rig. Popular with both sailing schools and family sailors, the Longboat is admired for its practicality, seaworthiness, and timeless character. Collars have been supplying the complete set of wooden spars for the Longboat since its early days, and we continue to provide replacement spar, to keep these boats sailing for generations to come.
 
While the open Longboat remains very much unchanged there was a Longboat Cruiser version which carried a shorter mast mounted in a tabernacle. We have the drawing for this and can supply a replacement but it's best to speak to us to ensure th correct mast is ordered. 
 
All the spars are supplied in spruce, fully varnished but without fittings. The exception is the main mast as a new pulley wheel is fitted in the masthead.
 
Although the spars remained unchanged over the years there were two different mast band sizes used. Please measure the inside diameter of the top band which should be either 60mm on the early boats and 64mm on later models. This will allow us to cut the correct shoulder size on the mast so the band can be swapped over without any issues.
