The Salterns Tela is a beautifully proportioned gaff-rigged dayboat, inspired by a classic Welsh “Seeker” pilot cutter and rebuilt for modern use by Salterns Boats. With a sturdy GRP hull trimmed in teak and a shallow-draft centreplate, it delivers a perfect blend of stability and elegance for estuary or coastal sailing. Light and trailerable, it’s equally at home explored solo or shared with friends. Collars have supplied the varnished Douglas Fir spars for the Tela—including mast, boom, gaff, and bowsprit—allowing owners to preserve both its traditional style and sailing performance.
 
The prices quoted are for the spar, fully varnished but less fittings. Traditionally all the spars were fitted out with bronze bands and normally these will be removed from the old spars, sent to us, and we will re-fit them onto the new spars before despatch.
